KUT’s energy and sustainability strategies are developed with complete regard for the goals of other team members, Clients’ aspirations and commercial objectives, and of course planning policy compliance.  We believe this is the key to ensuring sustainability is integrated in the most sensible and cost effective manner.

We have established partnerships with specialist consultants across a range of service areas including renewable energy and sustainability strategies, as well as BREEAM assessments and the former Code for Sustainable Homes (CSH) projects.  This approach ensures that we can integrate an comprehensive understanding of the planning policy for each specific project, enabling us to provide tailored and strategic advice for meeting the ever expanding list of planning requirements relating to climate change, energy and sustainability.  KUT’s competent team of CSH and BREEAM Assessors will work proactively with the project team to attain certification under the relevant scheme.

Part L Compliance

Part L of the Building Regulations is an essential part of every scheme, both residential or non-residential, new build or refurbishment.  Part L compliance has become increasingly challenging since 2006, and KUT have developed our approach to meet these standards and work directly with the team to achieve project compliance, following the most sensible strategy for the site.  Our work includes defining the building parameters together with achieving and confirming the scheme for the As Designed or As Built stage.

Our approach is to work closely with our Clients in achieving CSH and BREEAM compliance alongside meeting the overall project aspirations.  KUT work proactively with the team, providing as much advice and guidance as possible, whilst working hard to assist the team in providing the evidence required for the assessment audit.  We have an excellent track record of delivering schemes at Levesl 3 & 4 of CSH, and to Very Good and Excellent levels throughout the BREEAM schemes.
